Ok you guys, I have a confession to make,I am a literature snob, or at least I want to be. I have such little time to read that I feel like I can only read books that challenge my mommy brain. For example, and this is total nerdom that I am admitting here...I feel compelled to read books that require me to run for my trusty pocket dictionary. So when a friend of mine suggested "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer I laughed it off and firmly re-stuck my nose back into the never-ending saga of Jean Val Jean. And then perchance Tim and I happened to be strolling along in Barnes and Noble and low and behold... a whole table dedicated to all things Twilight.
I picked it up.
I paid for it.
I read it in three hours.
I asked my husband to return to the store to pick up the next two in the series... after all Mothers day was fast approaching. I gobbled those up in a matter of days. And so you can imagine what my house looks like, meals consist of anything that I can find in the freezer or in a can, my children are sitting idly by waiting for their mother to return and I will... eventually. Happy reading everyone.

That is so funny! I am still in the middle of #2. I got one for Christmas. When I finished 1, I decided I needed to read 2. So I got that one. I am enjoying them but I also have some issues with them. Maybe I was a prude growing up but I know I don't want my daughter thinking it is ok to have a boy in her room alone! Also, I think it is a bit silly how COMPLETELY love sick she is. I mean, come on! Get over it! He has left you already. Get on with life. So I guess I need to finish reading two so I can see what the rest of the buzz is about. I am glad you did some no-brainer reading. Everyone needs that every once in a while.
i just want to read a book that doesn't rhyme! will i ever get to that point?
OMG! I have only read the first one and loved it. I've heard that the book 2 is not as good and that 3 is good like the first. Did you know they are gonna make a Twilight movie? Not to sure I like the picks for the cast.
Hi Karen,
How funny! Nick came home school today and said, "I want this one book..." and it was this one. So, Michael got it for him. Maybe I will crack it open when he is done? That is, if I can put down my "People" magazines. Just kidding! (well....)
K. Fewkes-good to know you're finally coming around! I finished eclipse last night at midnight....and for mother's day I received a pre-ordered copy of the next one. I hate to admit it-but yes, I too could not put the book down.
