Ask and ye shall recieve....

Sorry it has taken me awhile to post these but here ya go....

Honey Whole Wheat bread... to die for

www.allrecipes.com/Recipe/Simple-Whole-Wheat-Bread/Detail.aspx

And the Apple tart
(called tart b/c in Ireland they don't go in for a lot of cinnamon and saucy and sugary in their pies)

Never fail Pie crust:
(2 double crust pies)

4 c. flour, not sifted
1 tbs sugar
2 tsp salt
1 3/4 c. solid shortening (get the kind in bricks)
1 tbs vinegar
1 egg
1/2 cup flour

Mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add shortening and mix with fork or pastry cutter until ingredients are crumbly.
Beat together vinegar, egg, and water. Combine with flour and fat mixture, stirring with fork to moisten ingredients. Shape with hands into 5 flat round patties ready for rolling. Put in fridge for until chilled.

Take one four pattie out fridge and roll out on floured surface, about 12 in. round.

Take it and put it gently in a pie dish and cut overhanging edges. Fork the bottom.

Next peel and slice 4-5 GRANNY SMITH apples, put apple slices(pieces, my mom just takes a knife and kind of haphazardly cuts random sized pieces of apple chunks and throws them in there) in the ready crust.

Throw a cup of sugar over the apples.

Roll out your second crust from the fridge, same as before and gently lay it on top of the pile of apples.

Cuts off the overhanging edges. Pinch the two crusts together to seal (there are a million different ways to do this, I'm gonna let you figure it out for yourselves.)

Cut three slices into the of the pie to let out the steam.

Beat and egg yolk and brush on top of pie for golden crispiness.

Throw in oven set at 350 for about an hour.

You guys I totally have a sweet picture of my beautiful looking pies, but I'm too lazy to walk upstairs and get the camera. You'll just have to be ok with that, ha.

Have fun baking!!!
