Her name is Georgette Heyer. And I think she is hilarious.
If you are hankering for some light regency romance, with a lot of mad-cap fun, she is your gal.(perfect for summer reading) I consider her the poor man's Austen. She was originally published with Harlequin in the 1920-30's but PULLLLLEEEEEZE do not let that throw you off, you can find her under the classical literature section of Barnes.
Just wanted to throw this one out there cause I think she is awesome.
"Devils cub" is so good, I made Tim listen to me read it out loud while he folded laundry (how awesome is my husband!)

Oh, I can't wait to read it. I love romance, but all I can find that's clean is Jack Weyland (LDS teen romance author, in case you don't know) and Stephanie Meyer. But I have one question. Do you have a TON of laundry, or is it a short book?
hey sarah!!! i DO have a ton of laundry, Tim folds it about every third day while I read to him, it took us about two months to get through Jane Eyre and only about two weeks to get through Devils Cub.
the name harlequin sure didn't stop me. she has been a fun author for me, and some of those books get pretty intense with the plot. lots of fun. but classical literature? hmm. i can't wait to give devils cub a try. i haven't seen that one at our library yet.
I'm going to run out and get it right now. Yee-Haw!!! Great Posts Karen--it's good fun catching up with your clan and seeing what you're up to.
