First Daddy/Daughter Date

My dad regularly took me on "dates" and so when I finally had a girl one of my first thoughts was that Tim would be able to do this with her.

It has finally arrived you guys.

I am so excited for her.

running....

i ran away from my children today.

i ran all the way down to the park, seven houses away.

i ran as fast as i could

one found me

i told him i needed some space

i don't think he got it

oh well

i did, though, so i ran away

it's good to run away even if it's only for five minutes

you should try it someday.

Ry' isms

"I had a nightmare daddy and the dream catcher didn't catch it. And besides Cameron nor Aidan are sleeping with me."
(I kid you not about the "nor" part)

"Speaking of ginger bread, it is gingerbread!!" (he LOVES to say "speaking of...")

Me: Ry, what do you have in your pockets?

Ry pulls his hands out and says

Ry: Nothing

Me: Come here Ry, let me look in your pockets.

----He's got two peanut butter cookies stashed in there

Me:Ry, why did you tell me you didn't have anything in your pockets?

Ry: I don't know mom, they just disappeared in there!!

LATER ON THAT DAY:

Me: Riley, what do you have in your pockets?

Ry: nothing

Me: (exasperated) Riley?!

Ry: What? How do you know I have something in my pockets?

Me: Because moms know everything (and you've also kept your hand in that one pocket for the past five minutes)

Ry: Ok, I'm gonna be in trouble

Me: Lets see it little man.

-----He pulls out half a hershey bar.

He looks at me with those big beautiful eyes and says

Ry: Mom i keep forgetting just like Boppa (kids nickname for my dad)

Me: What do you mean "forgetting just like Boppa?"

Ry: Like when he always "just forgets" to put on his seatbelt.

Me: Oh I see. (Thanks Dad for being the example, appreciate it!)

Everybody's got a cause... this is mine

This last Saturday my family allowed me to drag them out to the annual "Walk For Life West Coast" rally in San Fransisco. It was kind of awesome. Sometimes one wonders, especially living in this area, if you're the only one concerned about this. There was no need to wonder any longer. Upon arrival at the Justin Herman Plaza, where we listened to some pretty rockin' preachers and pro-life advocates before the walk, I could see thousands of people. It was packed AND it was pouring rain!!! Being only a semi-prepared mamma (I had packed food but no rain gear)a family soon took pity on us and gave us not one but two of their precious umbrellas. Eventually the sunshine broke through and it became a walking party. We got to traverse/dance along with some pretty enthusiastic drummers and singers.

They were awesome.

Anyways, the children were real troopers. They didn't even start whining until about half way. As it happens "half way" through the march landed us right at Fishermans wharf. Tim and I decided that we could call it a "Demonstration" and head over to the wharf for some fun. It was a great/hard day.

If any of you are interested I will definitely be going again next year sans kids so feel free to come with.

Also for your purusing enjoying you may want to check out this organization that I have been affiliated with for awhile now. I really dig their philosophies regarding the pro-life movement. You can check them out here:
